Mr. S. Manikandan has completed his UG and PG degrees in Zoology Discipline from Pondicherry University in First Class. He has also successfully completed M.Phil in Zoology with distinction. He was selected for pursuing PhD by Pondicherry University after clearing the entrance examination with flying colors. He then joined for PhD in the same discipline with specialization in the area of Microbiology and Immunology at ICMR- Vector Control Research Centre. He has to his credit 2 important patents out of which one has already been filed and the other is being processed in ICMR. During his research work, he has designed a novel, cost- effective lethal ovitrap for the control of Dengue vectors. He has nearly 10 publications in various journals and another 15 research papers under submission. He has recently received “Award for Excellence in Research-2022” conferred by EET CRS at the 10th Academic Achievement Awards-2022 conducted in Mumbai.
