Dr. Shailesh Narain Sharma (Senior Principal Scientist and Professor-AcSIR) did his graduation and post-graduation studies from University of Delhi and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi respectively. He did his Ph.D. from Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS), Jadavpur, Kolkata in 1994. After completing his Ph.D., he joined as a CSIR-Research Associate in IACS in 1994. In 1995 he joined as a Project Scientist position in Indian Institute of Technology, Hauz Khas, New Delhi. Later, in 1996, he went to Dept.de Fisica Aplicada I Electronica, University of Barcelona, Spain for his post-doctoral fellowship. In 1997, he has joined as a scientist in National Physical Laboratory (NPL). He also had a successful visiting scientist stint in Radiation Laboratory, University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Indiana, USA in the Department of Chemistry headed by Prof. Prashant Kamat in 2002-2003. Presently he is working as a Senior Principal Scientist at CSIR-NPL, New Delhi, India. He has guided 12 Ph.D and post- doctoral scholars and several M.Tech. trainees and currently has six Ph.D. scholars pursuing their Ph.D. under his guidance.
