Dr. Hari Mohan Saxena is an eminent educationist and a distinguished scientist. He has served as Director (Resident Instructions) cum Dean, Postgraduate Studies and Director of Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex at Bihar Animal Sciences University (BASU), Patna. He had also served as the Counsellor (S & amp;T), Embassy of India, Moscow, Russia. He was Professor of Immunology and Head of Veterinary Microbiology Department at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana. Dr. Saxena has developed new bacteriophage based therapies, immunotherapy and vaccine for bovine Brucellosis and a new non - invasive method for monitoring and assessment of efficacy of antibacterial therapies. He has discovered the molecular target of Infectious Bursal Disease virus on chicken lymphocytes. He published the first report on abrogation of Delayed Type Hypersensitivity, Graft Versus Host and Host versus Graft reactions by calcium inhibitors. He proposed a new strategy for selective in vivo amplification of desired T and B cells through carrier targeting and an alternative mechanism of regulation of immuno regulatory network. Dr. Saxena is a teacher par excellence. He has been bestowed with Lifetime Education Excellence Award and Medal by AIBDA, Eminent Educationist Award by Indus Foundation, Dr. S Radhakrishnan Lifetime Achievement National Award in teaching by IRDP and Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Distinguished Professor Award by CPACE. He is a scientist of international repute and was conferred National Excellence Award by Life Science Foundation, India, Lifetime Achievement Award by Venus International Foundation, Distinguished Scientist Award by the World Research Council and International Paul Ehrlich Distinguished Educationist and Inventive Researcher Award by IMRF.
