Prof. Dr. Panuganti C.S. Devara is currently Director, Professor and Head of the Centres of Excellence in Ocean- Atmospheric Science and Technology (ACOAST), Environmental Science and Health (ACESH) & Amity Centre of Air Pollution and Control (ACAPC) at Amity University Haryana (AUH), Gurugram, India, after serving the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune, MoES, India, at various capacities, from December 1980 to February 2014. • He is FELLOW of the Royal Meteorological Society (RMetS), UK; Immediate Past PRESIDENT of the Indian Aerosol Science and Technology Association (IASTA), India; and FELLOW of the Asian Aerosol Research Assembly (AARA), Taiwan. • He has rich experience of more than 40 years in the Active and Passive Remote Sensing of the Atmosphere, Oceans, Environmental Health, Weather and Climate. • His areas of research also include Pollution Monitoring, Diagnosis and Mitigation. • He is an Expert Reviewer of IPCC, UNEP, NSF, EU Funding Agencies, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO, GoI), Department of Science and Technology (DST, GoI), Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES, GoI), Ministry of Environment and Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC, GoI) and many leading Science National / International Journals. • He has published, so far, more than 585 Research Papers in Refereed Journals, Proceedings, Textbook Chapters and Scientific Reports. • He has guided, so far, 12 students for Ph.D. and 45 for M.Sc./M.Tech. degrees till date. • Prof. Devara received several awards / honors and Recognitions including the Eminent Scientist Award (January 2020), Lifetime Achievement Award (December 2021) and Best Research Award (February 2021), Asia’s Top-50 Scientist Award (November 2022), Kalam Research Award (May 2023), The World Class Scientist Award (2024), and Award of Excellence in Research (2024). • He is Fellow and Member of several Scientific and Professional Bodies in India and Abroad for his original contributions in the field of Physics, Chemistry and Dynamics. He delivered several Invited talks on National / International Platforms. • He organized several National / International Research Collaborations / Conferences / Symposia / Workshops / Brainstorming Sessions, Field Observation Campaigns in India and abroad. Presently, he is also Coordinator and closely associated with the Research Clusters of (i) Global Warming and Climate Change (GWCC) (now Earth, Environment and Climate (EEC) and (ii) Space Science and Technology (SS&T) at Amity Universe. • Prof. Devara is NASA-AERONET, GSFC, MD, USA Partner; Eminent Scientist, ASTIF (Amity Science, Technology & Innovation Foundation) and Top 10 Scientists of Amity University.
